Cats age differently to us.  As they age their bodies also change so it is useful to appreciate their comparative age and adjust the diet to suit their age and health conditions.  They do not stay young for long as we know it. After the first year cats are fully developed and have reached sexual maturity.

The oldest cat recorded according to the 2007 edition of Guinness Book of Records; The oldest known cat, named Crème Puff, lived to age 38 years and 3 days. This is equivalent 168 years in cat year. The cat died in August 2005.
